Kyrgyz Citizens Urged to Follow Safety Precautions in Iran

In recent days, unauthorized protest actions have been observed in several cities of Iran, as reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic (MFA KR).
As of January 6, 2026, official sources from the Iranian MFA confirm that there are no citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic among the protesters who have been harmed as a result of the unrest.

Given the current situation, the MFA strongly advises citizens of Kyrgyzstan to temporarily refrain from traveling to Iran unless absolutely necessary.

Those who are already in Iran are recommended to:

- be vigilant and cautious;

- avoid places with large crowds, as well as demonstrations and protests;

- follow the instructions of local authorities and law enforcement agencies;

- carry identification documents and contact information for the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic;

- monitor official messages from local authorities and diplomatic missions.

The MFA continues to monitor the situation and will promptly inform citizens of any changes.

In case of emergencies, Kyrgyz citizens should immediately contact the Embassy of Kyrgyzstan in Tehran. Hotlines: +989352505226, +989352505229.
