The Ministry of Foreign Affairs warned Kyrgyz citizens in Iran

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic has published information for compatriots currently in Iran.

At present, many international airlines have reduced or suspended their flights to Iran, leading to changes in flight schedules. If you are unable to leave the country by air, there is an option to exit by land through neighboring states.

Citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic can enter Armenia and Turkey without a visa.

To enter Turkmenistan, it is necessary to contact the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in that country in advance for assistance in obtaining a visa and entry permit.

As of January 16, 2026, border crossing points on the border of Iran with Afghanistan and Iraq remain open. If you plan to enter these countries, you must apply for a visa in advance at the respective diplomatic missions.

The Ministry advises considering alternative routes for departure.

The land borders of Iran with Pakistan and Azerbaijan are currently closed for crossing.
