Protests in Iran: Kyrgyz citizens are urged to refrain from traveling to the country

Anti-government protests continue in Iran. In this regard, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan strongly recommends its citizens to refrain from traveling to this country.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as of January 6, there is no official information about Kyrgyz citizens affected during the protests, according to reports from Iranian authorities.

Kyrgyz citizens currently in Iran should:

• be particularly vigilant and cautious;


• avoid crowds, demonstrations, and protests;


• strictly adhere to the instructions of local authorities and law enforcement;


• carry identification documents and contact information for the Kyrgyz embassy;


• stay informed about current messages from local authorities and diplomatic missions.
