Collision of a boat in Phuket: Kyrgyz citizens were not injured — Ministry of Foreign Affairs

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan commented on the incident that occurred in Phuket, where the leisure boat Korawich Marine 888 collided with a fishing vessel. According to the latest information, 55 people were injured as a result of this collision.

In response to the situation, the Embassy of Kyrgyzstan in Malaysia quickly began working with the honorary consul of the country in Thailand to determine whether Kyrgyz citizens were on board the boat and their condition.

During the conducted check, it was established that there were two Kyrgyz citizens on board, with whom contact was successfully made. According to available information, they did not sustain any injuries, and their health condition is assessed as satisfactory. The citizens declined medical assistance and hospitalization.

Furthermore, the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Malaysia continues to maintain contact with these citizens and monitors the situation's development. Preliminary information indicates that their return to their homeland is scheduled for January 15, 2026.

It should be noted that last Sunday in Thailand, as a result of a collision between a boat and a fishing vessel in the Andaman Sea, near Phuket, 23 tourists were injured.
