In the Uzgen district, some batches of baby food under the "Nestlé" (Russia) brand were seized. This information was received from the Uzgen District Center for Disease Prevention and State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance.

According to the agency, this decision was made as part of safety measures due to the possible presence of cereulide toxin in one of the raw material components.

The inspection covered 13 retail outlets, among which products from the "Nestlé" company were found in four. In these cases, the products were seized, and the store owners were advised to temporarily halt the sale of baby food from this brand.

Consumers are strongly advised to carefully check the product names and their production dates. If they match the recalled batches, they should refrain from using these products.

Previously, the Department of State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance under the Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan informed about receiving an official notification from the company "Forester" regarding the voluntary recall of limited batches of Nestlé baby food for safety reasons.

The recall concerns dry instant milk, fermented milk, and lactose-free formulas under the brands NAN 1 OPTIPRO, NAN OPTIPRO 2, NAN EXPERTPRO, NAN 2 OPTIPRO, PRENAN, and NAN LACTOSE FREE with specific production dates.

The department noted that the notification of the voluntary recall came from the distributor of Nestlé baby food — LLC "Forester".

According to the agency's information, the recall is taking place due to the potential risk of cereulide toxin in the raw material (arachidonic acid). The official distributor has already begun the process of withdrawing the mentioned batches from retail chains in Kyrgyzstan.

The department also strongly recommends that consumers check both the name and the production date of the baby formula. If they match the recalled batches, it is necessary to immediately stop using them and contact the distributor for a return.

According to the manufacturer, the recall concerns a limited number of batches that may contain cereulide toxin.

Cereulide is a toxin produced by certain strains of the Bacillus cereus bacteria, which is resistant to high temperatures. Possible symptoms of poisoning may include vomiting and diarrhea, which are similar to food poisoning or an allergic reaction to cow's milk proteins.

Previously, similar batches of "Nestlé" baby food were recalled in Russia, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan.
