Graham noted that Trump supports the possibility of advancing a bipartisan bill in Congress concerning countries that engage in trade with Russia. A vote on this bill is expected to take place as early as next week.

Additionally, he added that the president praised the initiative and urged the Senate to expedite work on the project of "devastating" sanctions against Russia, which was mentioned during their joint golf game with Senate Republican leader John Thune.

Lindsey Graham emphasized the importance of passing this bill to create "leverage" in negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
