The Bishkek City Court continues to hear the case involving 22 individuals, including activists, politicians, and journalists. Many of the defendants are under house arrest.
Among those in the spotlight are Mambetjunus Abylov, Aidanbek Akmatov, Nurlan Asanbekov, and others such as Akylbek Aitbaev, Azimbek Beknazarov, and Marat Bayazov. The list also includes Ravshan Jeenbekov, Gulnara Dzhurabaeva, Chyngyz Kaparov, Rita Karasartova, Zhenish Moldokmatov, Ulukbek Mamataev, Temir Makhmudov, Talaybek Mademinov, Klara Sooronkulova, Perizat Suranova, Asiya Sasykbaeva, Ilgiz Saryldyk uulu (Ilgiz Shamenov), and Shabdan Ali.

It is worth noting that the agreement with Uzbekistan regarding the border, signed in 2022, became the cause of significant political conflict. These activists were arrested in October of the same year for their protests against the agreement on the Kempir-Abad reservoir, and they were charged under Article 278 "Organization of Mass Riots." A significant portion of the case materials has been classified, making it difficult for lawyers to access them. Subsequently, the defendants were also charged with a crime under Article 326 "Violent Seizure of Power."

Earlier, on June 14, the court had already issued an acquittal. However, the prosecution appealed this decision and is seeking its reversal.

The case is currently under review in the court of second instance.
