According to Almazbek Akmatov, the head of the committee, it is planned to reduce the number of auditors from nine to three. He noted that this change will not affect the efficiency of the Audit Chamber's work, as the main role in conducting audits is performed by inspectors, while auditors are only responsible for overseeing their activities.
The elected auditor will be appointed by the Jogorku Kenesh from among the candidates proposed by the president, while the other two will be appointed by the parliament.Akmatov also added that his five-year term in office expires on April 16, but some auditors will continue their work for one to two more years.
