Reduction of auditors in the Accounts Chamber. Savings will amount to 30 million soms.
Almazbek Akmatov, the chairman of the Accounts Chamber, emphasized that one of the key points of the bill is the reduction of the number of auditors from nine to three.
According to him, this decision was made in accordance with the president's directive aimed at optimizing and reducing bureaucracy.
“Currently, our organization employs 98 inspectors, and their number is insufficient to ensure the work of all auditors. As a result, some audits can take up to six months due to a lack of staff. We concluded that it is better for one auditor to work with a group of 30-40 inspectors, which will speed up the audit process in government agencies,” Akmatov added.
He also noted that the reduction in the number of auditors will lead to a budget savings of 30 million soms.
The bill proposes that the Jogorku Kenesh will elect one auditor on the president's proposal and two on its own initiative. Auditors will be appointed for a term of five years, and the same person will not be able to hold this position for more than two consecutive terms.
