The discussion focused on major infrastructure projects in Kyrgyzstan
During the meeting between the President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov, and the President of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, Zou Jiayi, key projects were discussed, such as the construction of the Kambar-Ata-1 hydropower plant and the railway connection between China, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan. This information was announced by the press service of the head of state.
Japarov emphasized that industrialization is a crucial direction of state policy. In his opinion, Kyrgyzstan needs projects that provide high added value, modernization of production capacities, and development of the processing industry. Additionally, one of the main tasks is to overcome the electricity deficit, which makes the construction of the Kambar-Ata-1 hydropower plant and the modernization of energy infrastructure particularly relevant.
Moreover, the parties discussed issues of transport logistics and road construction.
Zou Jiayi noted that Kyrgyzstan holds an important position among the founding countries of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank and is a strategic partner. She also confirmed the AIIB's intention to continue financing current projects and consider new initiatives.
