
During the meeting, President Japarov emphasized that for Kyrgyzstan, industrialization is an important direction of development that can strengthen the country's position in the global economy. He highlighted the need to develop high value-added sectors and modernize industry, inviting the AIIB to actively cooperate in these areas.
In addition, Japarov noted the importance of improving transport infrastructure and logistics, setting a strategic goal of establishing Kyrgyzstan as a regional hub. He also stressed that the implementation of infrastructure projects in this area will enhance the country's competitiveness and create new opportunities for economic growth.
The president also identified the issue of electricity shortages as one of the key tasks, mentioning plans to increase generation, modernize energy infrastructure, and improve energy efficiency. He noted that the successful implementation of large energy projects is of strategic importance for the country.
Japarov also emphasized the importance of investment in road infrastructure, which can enhance transport accessibility and contribute to regional development. He invited the AIIB to further partner in this direction.
Zhou confirmed the AIIB's readiness to continue financing current projects and support new initiatives that align with Kyrgyzstan's priorities. She highlighted the importance of cooperation in the areas of infrastructure, transport and logistics connections, trade and investment, as well as support for the private sector.
Particular attention at the meeting was given to the construction project of the Kambar-Ata HPP-1, which was recognized as important for the country's energy security. The head of the AIIB expressed readiness to discuss the possibility of participating in the financing of this project.
Additionally, Zhou Jia reported the Bank's readiness to explore opportunities to support the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway project, expecting specific proposals from the Kyrgyz side for further development. In conclusion, she noted that the AIIB will continue to consider financial mechanisms and tools to facilitate the development of Kyrgyzstan and the implementation of priority projects.
