A meeting took place recently between the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and the Head of the Presidential Administration, Adylbek Kasymaliev, and the President of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, Zou Jiayi. The press service of the Cabinet informed about this event.
At the beginning of the discussion, Adylbek Kasymaliev congratulated Zou Jiayi on his election as President of the AIIB.
Kasymaliev noted that the economy of the Kyrgyz Republic has shown positive dynamics in recent years. This has been made possible thanks to effective financial, fiscal, and monetary policies, which resulted in an average economic growth rate of 10.2% over the past four years.
He also mentioned the implementation of 12 reforms under the Government Accelerators Program aimed at addressing pressing issues. These reforms were highly praised at the World Government Summit held from February 2 to 5 in Dubai.
Discussing energy issues, Kasymaliev emphasized that the Kambar-Ata-1 hydropower plant project will bring significant economic, environmental, and social benefits.
He also highlighted the construction of the China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan railway as an important infrastructure project for the country.
During the meeting, the Chairman of the Cabinet proposed to establish a credit line between the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank and state banks, focusing on key sectors such as agriculture, solar energy, and support for small and medium-sized enterprises.
Zou Jiayi, in turn, positively assessed the economic growth of the Kyrgyz Republic and expressed readiness to consider all possible options for further contributions in this area.
At the end of the meeting, an agreement was signed between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank regarding the project "Development of a Sustainable Financial Market for Small and Medium Enterprises in the Kyrgyz Republic."
