Sadyr Japarov discussed with the head of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank the possible support for the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway.

- President Sadyr Japarov held a meeting with Zou Jia, head of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank. The press service of the presidential administration reported this on February 12.

During the discussions, the parties explored opportunities for joint implementation of large projects aimed at the industrialization of Kyrgyzstan, the development of transport and logistics connections, as well as strengthening the country's transit potential. Support for initiatives in agriculture and energy sectors was also addressed.

According to Sadyr Japarov, industrialization is a key direction for the Kyrgyz Republic and an important tool for enhancing the country's position on the world stage. The president emphasized the need to develop high value-added sectors, modernize industry, and increase processing volumes, calling on the AIIB for active cooperation.

In addition, he highlighted the necessity of developing transport infrastructure and logistics, outlining the goal of strengthening Kyrgyzstan's position as a regional hub. Japarov noted that the successful implementation of infrastructure projects could significantly enhance the country's competitiveness and open new opportunities for economic growth.

The head of state also stressed the importance of addressing the issue of electricity shortages, announcing ambitious plans to increase production, modernize energy infrastructure, and improve energy efficiency. He emphasized the strategic significance of major projects in the energy sector and invited the AIIB to collaborate on priority initiatives.

Zou Jia, for her part, noted that the AIIB views Kyrgyzstan as one of its important strategic partners, reminding that the republic is one of the founding countries of the Bank. She expressed satisfaction with the stable socio-economic development of Kyrgyzstan and confirmed the intention to continue financing existing projects, as well as support new initiatives.

The Asian Bank is interested in cooperation for the development of infrastructure, transport and logistics connections, expanding trade and investments, as well as supporting the private sector.

Particular attention was given to the project for the construction of the Kambar-Ata HPP-1, where Zou Jia emphasized its importance for Kyrgyzstan's energy security and the Bank's readiness to consider participation in its financing.

She also stated the willingness to explore the possibility of supporting the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway project if the Kyrgyz side presents specific proposals.
