In the Jogorku Kenesh, a demand was made for the protection of the rights of Kyrgyz citizens in Russia.

At a recent meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, deputies highlighted the difficulties faced by Kyrgyz citizens abroad. Issues concerning the mass arrests of citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic in foreign prisons were discussed, as well as shortcomings in the operation of migration registries in Russia, which jeopardize honest businessmen.
Deputy Bakhtiyar Kalpaev voiced alarming information: currently, about 1500 citizens of Kyrgyzstan are in foreign prisons, the majority of whom are serving sentences in Russia. He urged the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other relevant structures to intensify efforts for the extradition of convicted individuals so that they can serve their sentences at home near their loved ones.
Another deputy, Suyunbek Omurzakov, also noted a serious problem. According to him, law-abiding Kyrgyz citizens who have been doing business in Russia for a long time are included in the recently updated registry of "controlled persons."
- I have received appeals from citizens who have worked in Russia for many years without breaking the law. They report that they found themselves on this list without explanations, and according to the new legislation, they now need to leave the country, - Omurzakov said.
The deputy expressed the opinion that the process of forming this registry is functioning incorrectly and allows for errors. He emphasized that Kyrgyzstan and Russia are strategic partners, and such issues should be resolved as a priority.
- It is necessary to conduct negotiations with the Russian side and develop clear mechanisms for excluding from the registry those who are working legally in Russia. It is unacceptable for our citizens, who have built their lives and businesses abroad for many years, to suffer due to technical problems or system shortcomings, - concluded the parliamentarian.
