Bekeshev: Citizens are charged 100 soms just for calling the government agency's call center

At a meeting of the committee on constitutional legislation of the Jogorku Kenesh, Deputy Dastan Bekeshev expressed the opinion that it is necessary to expand communication channels for citizens. According to him, the cost of calls to "Kyrgyztelecom" numbers is too high, which causes dissatisfaction among the population.

He noted that citizens often face difficulties when trying to reach various state and municipal institutions. In particular, they are unable to contact "Gorlift," "Electric Networks," and water supply organizations. At the same time, about 5 soms are charged for each minute of conversation from a mobile phone, and the waiting time can stretch up to 20 minutes. As a result, people can lose up to 100 soms for a call to the call center.

Bekeshev emphasized that government agencies must be responsible for the quality of their services and ensure the availability of modern communication channels for citizens.

The deputy proposed to require all state and municipal institutions to install mobile numbers and use messengers such as WhatsApp and Telegram to improve communication.

He also added that "Kyrgyztelecom" is not interested in lowering tariffs; however, this should not affect the financial burden on citizens. "People should not have to pay 100 soms just to reach the call center," the deputy concluded.
