Russia denied the repatriation of 144 citizens of Kyrgyzstan serving sentences in prisons, - prosecutor's office

During the meeting of the Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh on judicial and legal issues, law enforcement, combating crime, and countering corruption, Deputy Attorney General Ümütkan Konkubayeva reported that Russia has refused the repatriation of 144 citizens of Kyrgyzstan serving sentences in Russian prisons.

Deputy Ulukbek Uzakbaev raised the question of whether the permanent representation of the General Prosecutor's Office in Russia could expedite the process. Currently, all requests are sent in written form. He also inquired whether there have been cases of refusal for transfer.

Konkubayeva confirmed that such cases have indeed occurred. Out of 449 requests, 144 were rejected due to non-compliance with the terms of the agreement or due to serious crimes such as murders and other particularly dangerous acts.

Uzakbaev added that having a representation could facilitate the resolution of issues directly on-site. In response, Konkubayeva noted that this issue has already been considered, and it remains to resolve the problem of salary payments.
