The Housing Committee approved in the third reading a bill allowing teenagers to work in a candidate's election campaign, unrelated to campaigning.

The Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh on Constitutional Legislation completed the review of the draft law "On Amendments to the Constitutional Law 'On the Elections of the President and Deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh'" on January 13 during its third reading.
The initiator of this draft law is Deputy Dastan Bekeshev. He proposes to allow teenagers to participate in the electoral campaigns of candidates, provided that their activities are not related to campaigning.
An important aspect of the draft law is the possibility of using photographs and video recordings in campaign materials, regardless of the candidate's age.
The following changes are proposed:
- Individuals under the age of 18 will be prohibited from conducting campaigning, as well as distributing and producing campaign materials. However, teenagers aged 16 to 18 will be allowed, with written consent from their parents or legal representatives, to participate in the activities of a candidate's electoral campaign that are not related to campaigning.
- Candidates will be able to use their own photographs and video recordings of any age in campaign materials.
- Additionally, candidates will not be held responsible for the presence of individuals under the age of 18 at pre-election meetings and gatherings.

It is worth noting that earlier the Cabinet of Ministers expressed a negative opinion regarding this draft law.
