Border guards thwarted a series of attempts to illegally export livestock to Tajikistan

Several attempts to illegally export cattle were prevented at the Kyrgyz-Tajik border, reported the State Border Service. A total of 41 animals were detained.

In the Leilek district, border service officers stopped a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vehicle, which contained 12 heads of cattle lacking veterinary and accompanying documents. The vehicle was driven by two citizens of Kyrgyzstan.

Additionally, in the Batken district, 12 stray animals were found that were being prepared for illegal transportation across the border outside of control points.


In the International area, a man was detained while attempting to transport 14 heads of livestock bypassing official border checkpoints. In the Sady area, an attempt to export a bull on a cargo scooter "Muravey" was also thwarted, resulting in the detention of two citizens.

Furthermore, border guards identified three individuals who were trying to smuggle two more animals. During the attempt to detain them, they fled into the territory of a neighboring state, leaving the livestock behind.

All detainees were taken to the Border Service units, where further investigations are being conducted regarding these incidents.
