A man was detained by the Border Service of the Kyrgyz Republic while attempting to illegally transport livestock to Tajikistan



According to information provided by the Border Service of the Kyrgyz Republic, on February 14, 2026, an attempt to illegally transport livestock across the Kyrgyz-Tajik border was prevented. The incident occurred in the Leilek district, in the vicinity of the area known as "Tajik Nasos" in the rural administration of Jany-Jer, not far from the state border.

The detained individual was a citizen of Kyrgyzstan, N.E.M., born in 1988. He attempted to transport livestock from Kyrgyzstan to Tajikistan, bypassing established checkpoints.

According to border guards, during the detention, 10 cows were confiscated, which were believed to be intended for illegal export across the border.

The detained man and the animals were taken to the office of the State Border Service for further investigation and the necessary documentation.

The Border Service reminded that violations of the state border regime and attempts to illegally transport goods and animals may result in liability under the legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic.
