Three police officers dismissed in connection with former head of the GKNB in Bishkek

Today, February 16, three police officers were dismissed, who had direct connections with Eldar Zhakypbekov, the former head of the State Committee for National Security (GKNB) in Bishkek. This information was confirmed by representatives of law enforcement agencies.

Among those dismissed was Rufat Abdurazakoff, the head of the personnel department of the Main Internal Affairs Directorate (GUVD) of the Chui region, who is the husband of Zhakypbekov's sister.

Also removed from his position was Chyngyz Tokoldoshev, the head of the Internal Affairs Directorate of Balakchy, a close friend of Zhakypbekov.

In addition, Aizatbek Uchbaev, the deputy head of the Pervomaisky District Internal Affairs Directorate in Bishkek for operational work, also lost his position. He is also a friend of the former head of the GKNB.

On February 10, the President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov, signed a decree relieving Kamchybek Tashiev from the post of Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Chairman of the State Committee for National Security.

Jumgalbek Shabdanbekov was appointed as the acting chairman of the GKNB by the new decree.

Three deputy chairmen of the GKNB were also dismissed under the same decree.

On February 14, there was a change in leadership at the Main Directorate of the GKNB in Bishkek: Ulan Biibosunov replaced Eldar Zhakypbekov. On February 15, Zhakypbekov was detained.

On February 16, Salmoor Jumabekov was also removed from the post of head of the GKNB Main Directorate for Osh and the Osh region.
