According to information provided by the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES), the incident occurred on February 12, when the avalanche struck D.A., who was at that moment in a pasture with 50 sheep and one horse.
By order of the Minister of Emergency Situations, starting from 03:00 on February 13, 24 rescuers from various units and departments of the MES were involved in the search and rescue operation.
During the search efforts, the bodies of 10 sheep were found; however, the man himself has not yet been located.
Rescue teams have temporarily settled for the night in the shepherds' house, which is located five kilometers from the avalanche site. Search operations will resume on February 14.
