The raid called "Arsenal," which took place in the Aravan district, focused on identifying illegally stored weapons and ensuring compliance with the rules for storing registered firearms. As a result of the raid, 1 unit of rifled weapon and 3 traumatic pistols were temporarily seized and transferred to the District Department of Internal Affairs. One citizen voluntarily surrendered his weapon after an explanatory conversation. Fines were imposed on 8 citizens for violations of storage and registration rules.
In the Alay district, in response to reports of threats and violence involving pistols, three citizens also voluntarily surrendered 3 traumatic pistols to the police for destruction. Traumatic pistols were temporarily seized from three other registered weapon owners due to violations of storage and re-registration rules.
The Internal Affairs Department of the Osh region informs that explanatory work with the population aimed at preventing incidents and crimes related to firearms is conducted on a regular basis. Citizens who have surrendered illegally stored weapons are exempt from liability under the law.
