Operation "Arsenal": In Nookat, residents voluntarily surrendered firearms
According to the information, the Nookat District Department of Internal Affairs initiated an operational and preventive event called "Arsenal," aimed at preventing incidents related to firearms, as well as identifying illegal storage of weapons. Within the framework of this campaign, citizens were also informed about the inadmissibility of using firearms in situations of domestic conflicts.
During the event, police officers held discussions with owners of registered firearms, reminding them of the importance of adhering to the rules for their use and storage. Additionally, efforts were made to inform about the possibility of voluntarily surrendering illegally stored weapons to law enforcement agencies.
As a result, two citizens surrendered firearms, including ammunition, to the police.
Among the items surrendered was one rifled firearm of the TOZ-8 brand. Two other firearms were temporarily seized due to the death of their owner and were transferred for storage to the District Department of Internal Affairs until the issue is resolved. As a result of violations of storage and re-registration rules, three citizens were held administratively liable: protocols were drawn up against them, and they were fined 9,000 soms.
