In the Leilek District, during the operation "Arsenal," citizens voluntarily surrendered weapons and ammunition.
According to their information, employees of the Leilek District Department of Internal Affairs are conducting a preventive event called "Arsenal" in the area from January 13 to 26 to ensure public safety and order.
During the event, two citizens voluntarily surrendered two smoothbore firearms, four gas-traumatic pistols, and 43 cartridges without the appropriate documents. In addition, one citizen who violated the rules for storing weapons was fined 3,000 soms.
Police officers are conducting explanatory work with the population aimed at preventing incidents related to weapons and informing about the possibility of exemption from criminal liability when voluntarily surrendering undocumented weapons.
“The event is organized to prevent negative phenomena in society, prevent domestic violence, and ensure the safety of citizens,” the statement said.
