The Jogorku Kenesh approved the proposal to reduce the number of auditors in the Accounts Chamber from 9 to 3 people.
The initiative for the draft law was presented by the President of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Almazbek Akmatov, the chairman of the Accounts Chamber, emphasized that the purpose of developing this law is to improve the legal regulation of the work of the Accounts Chamber, as well as to ensure its institutional, functional, and financial independence in accordance with international standards of external state audit (INTOSAI).
Among the proposals is also the reduction of the number of auditors in the Accounts Chamber from nine to three, establishing a rule that the Accounts Chamber will consist of three auditors, among whom a chairman will be appointed, and will also include the staff of the Accounts Chamber and its territorial divisions.
