The sewing industry is requesting preferential loans and certification
Both deputies and representatives from the textile sector and government institutions attended the meeting.
Speakers from the textile industry shared the difficulties they face, including issues with access to the Wildberries marketplace, restrictions in the Russian market, the need to find new sales markets, and the lack of laboratories and certification, which complicates entry into European platforms. Participants noted that due to the crisis, more than 3,000 sewing workshops have closed, leaving many people unemployed. In this regard, they appealed for support for domestic production.
Deputy Jumabek Salymbekov inquired with the Minister of Economy and Commerce about the number of closed textile enterprises, emphasizing the decline in production volumes and loss of competitiveness. He asked about the measures the ministry plans to take to address the emerging problems, considering that Kyrgyzstan is a member of the EAEU.
Minister of Economy and Commerce Bakyt Sydykov confirmed that negotiations with Wildberries are currently underway.
Deputy Seyidbek Atambaev raised the issue of attracting foreign specialists from Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Uzbekistan to the textile industry. Deputy Talaybek Masabirov noted the need to create a logistics center and discuss preferential loans for textile companies. Bakyt Sydykov reported that the Wildberries logistics center is planned to open by 2028. Deputy Bolotbek Borbiev emphasized that textile production must be brought out of the shadows. Deputy Cholpon Esenamanova raised questions regarding imports to Russia, product labeling, and VAT. Deputy Nilufer Alimjanova highlighted the importance of diversifying sales markets for domestic products. Deputy Azamzhan Jalilov stressed that Kyrgyzstan must make the most of its economic opportunities within the framework of EAEU membership. Deputy Azamat Isyrailov emphasized the need to create favorable conditions for domestic producers, as well as to address issues of transport logistics and sales.
