Entrepreneur announced the closure of 4-5 thousand sewing workshops in Kyrgyzstan

At a meeting of the "Ala-Too" deputy group, entrepreneur Jasur Parpiev reported on the mass closure of sewing enterprises in Kyrgyzstan. He noted that since September 2025, when problems in the industry arose, the number of closed sewing workshops has reached 4-5 thousand, and possibly even more.

“Five months have already passed, but no real support measures for the sewing industry have been adopted. When difficulties arise, no one is interested in what happened. When I opened my workshop, inspections lasted three months, but when problems occur, no agency shows any interest,” he emphasized, adding that about half a million people work in this sector.

In response to deputies' questions about the number of closed sewing companies in the country, Minister of Economy and Commerce Bakyt Sydykov was unable to provide specific figures. He noted that many enterprises do not undergo registration, making it extremely difficult to determine the exact number of closed workshops.
