The Ministry of Economic Development announced preferential lending for the textile industry
The minister added that if we take into account related sectors, such as logistics, the actual number of employees and entrepreneurs in this field significantly exceeds the official data. "Considering workers in related sectors, the number of entrepreneurs in the garment industry reaches 150,000," noted Sydykov.
He also emphasized that official statistics do not reflect the full picture. "Although 36,600 workers are registered, the actual number may be higher," the minister said.
Deputy Jumabek Salymbekov expressed the opinion that since September 2025, garment workers have been facing serious difficulties and are "ringing the alarm bells." He also mentioned that entrepreneurs have complained about the lack of support from the ministry. "What actions is the ministry taking in this regard?" the deputy inquired.
In response to the question, Sydykov spoke about the launch of a financial support program for businesses. "On January 14, a program for preferential financing for small and medium-sized enterprises was approved," he reported. According to him, the total volume of the credit portfolio is planned to be at the level of 3 billion soms, of which 300 million soms will be allocated from the budget for subsidies.
"Entrepreneurs will be able to receive preferential loans at an interest rate of 6% per annum for a term of up to 60 months," the minister added.
