Kyrgyzstan Challenges Unilateral Sanctions - Foreign Minister Kulubaev

- The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jeenbek Kulubaev, made a statement for the press regarding the inclusion of Kyrgyz enterprises in the sanctions lists.
He noted that Kyrgyzstan was ready to provide the necessary documents and even conduct an independent audit; however, according to him, "for now, this does not seem appropriate, and sanctions are being imposed unilaterally."
Kulubaev emphasized that such a practice is erroneous, considering that Kyrgyzstan occupies a central position in Asia, with numerous trade routes and transit transportation passing through it. "We will continue to work within the framework of the sanctions regimes and hold consultations, but at the same time, we cannot suspend trade with our traditional partners," he clarified.
In his opinion, in conditions of conflicts and economic crises, when the country's economy faces restrictions, Kyrgyzstan must continue trade and ensure the safety and well-being of its people.
"We fulfill our international obligations, but if there is serious evidence, it must be presented. So far, no evidence has been provided; however, sanctions continue to be imposed unilaterally," he noted.
Kulubaev added that Kyrgyzstan is actively negotiating at the level of the European Union, the USA, and Britain and intends to continue this activity.
