According to the analysis, the total cost of the minimum grocery set has decreased by 484 soms, amounting to 7,290 soms.
We conduct weekly price monitoring in the same supermarket, tracking price changes for the same set of products. The table below provides a complete list of the items included in our basket, as well as the reasons for price changes.
It is important to note that prices in stores and markets may vary; supermarkets often offer products at reduced prices as part of promotions.
Since the beginning of our research, which started in October 2018, the cost of the grocery basket has increased by 4,020 soms. Since the beginning of this year, the increase has been 567 soms, and compared to the same period in 2025, it has risen by 1,147 soms.
Bread remains the cheapest product in our basket. The prices of fresh vegetables and fruits have the greatest impact on the cost of the grocery set, as they primarily determine price fluctuations.

During 2025, the cost of the grocery basket increased by 686 soms. The lowest price was recorded on October 18 — 5,791 soms, while the highest reached on December 6 — 6,927 soms.

Back in 2009, the government of Kyrgyzstan established nutritional norms for citizens, according to which every resident of the country is required to consume 9 different products monthly.
Among the approved norms are 9 kilograms of bread, 5 kilograms of meat, 8.2 kilograms of potatoes, 9 kilograms of vegetables, 10 kilograms of fruits and berries, 2 kilograms of sugar, 17 liters of milk, 1 liter of vegetable oil, 4 eggs, 100 grams of fish, and 200 grams of tea.

Based on the specified norms, we calculated the cost of the consumer basket for a family of four, based on prices from one of the supermarkets in Bishkek. Recently, many city residents prefer shopping in large stores.
It is worth noting that the calculations regarding food consumption are approximate and rely solely on state norms. It should be taken into account that everyone has their own dietary preferences. Some may not eat meat at all, while others, conversely, avoid sugar. Therefore, our basket should not be perceived as the ultimate truth; it is rather a social experiment conducted by 24.kg.
Grain products include both bread and various pasta and cereals. Our family is average; they prefer apples and bananas among fruits, and onions, carrots, peppers, cabbage, cucumbers, and tomatoes among vegetables. We try to limit ourselves to only the necessary set of products without excess.
