Fines will range from 7,500 to 23,000 soms
In the Kyrgyz Republic, it is planned to introduce administrative penalties for non-compliance with the norms of legislation in the halal industry. Recently, the relevant changes were discussed at a meeting of the committee of the Jogorku Kenesh responsible for finance, budget, entrepreneurship, and competition development.
Sultan Akhmatov, Deputy Minister of Economy and Commerce, noted that the current law "On the Halal Industry in the Kyrgyz Republic" already includes liability for such violations. However, these provisions have not yet been reflected in the Code of Offenses.
In this regard, it is proposed to introduce a new article in the code — "Violation of the requirements of the legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic in the field of halal industry".
According to the proposed bill, fines for the production and sale of halal products and services without the necessary documents will be:
— 7,500 soms for individuals;
— 23,000 soms for legal entities.
It is also proposed to introduce a fine of 13,000 soms for legal entities for non-compliance with the procedure for confirming the compliance of halal products and services.
As a result of the discussion, the relevant committee of the Jogorku Kenesh approved this bill in the first reading.
