Some manufacturers have found themselves at the center of a scandal

The Ministry of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic has initiated the introduction of liability for violations related to the production of halal products and services.

According to information from the agency, the law "On the Halal Industry" establishes clear requirements for the production, certification, and labeling of halal products. It is proposed to introduce penalties for the release of halal goods and the provision of halal services without proper certificates, as well as for discrepancies in certification procedures.

At the same time, work is underway to improve the halal certification system, which includes the digitization of the certificate issuance process and the implementation of more effective methods of control over the production and labeling of goods.

These measures are aimed at protecting consumer rights and increasing trust in halal products in Kyrgyzstan.

Previously, violations were identified among a number of manufacturers, including the detection of pork DNA in their products. After reviewing production processes and conducting additional laboratory tests, these issues were resolved.
