Just four years ago, Colony No. 47 was located at 91 Malikova Street in Bishkek. Today, joyful Kyrgyzstanis are receiving the keys to their apartments built on this territory as part of the state mortgage program. On December 12, the second phase of occupancy in the "Muras" complex took place, which includes 39 residential blocks and 4,754 apartments. It is expected that by the end of the year, around 2,700 more families will receive their keys.

New apartment owners shared their experiences and emotions with the editorial team of Kaktus.media.

Kanyshai Nurmatova, who returned to Bishkek from Moscow, immediately headed to the key handover ceremony for her two-room apartment, for which she paid 50% of the cost. "I waited for a year and a half. We are a family of migrants, living in Moscow for over 20 years with four children. I hope that now we can move here. I arrived at night and came straight here. We are used to Moscow, but we will adapt here too. This is our homeland," she shared.

Khalida Nestanbekova, who also received an apartment, excitedly shows off her new kitchen. "In the new year, we now have a new home. We bought the apartment, paying 50% of the cost. I like everything very much. I have five children, and my husband is a businessman. I stay at home while he works. I hope to cook a variety of dishes for my family in this kitchen," she said.

Another woman came from Karakol. Her daughter, who works in Qatar, purchased the apartment with a mortgage and also paid 50% of the cost. "We waited only two years. We are receiving the keys. This is a one-room apartment, but maybe later we will exchange it for something bigger. There is everything we need here: a school, a kindergarten. We waited so long for this day, and it has finally come. I am very nervous. I can't say it was hard to pay, as this money usually goes to rent. It’s better to pay here and eventually get housing. I liked that there are no payments for the first two months," she shared.

The "Muras" complex offers its residents a kindergarten, a school, and parking for 2,500 vehicles. The price per square meter is $950, which is significantly lower than the market value, which typically starts at $1,500. Of the 1,080 families who received keys, 360 became owners of one-room apartments, 432 of two-room apartments, and 288 of three-room apartments.

Currently, 80,245 mortgage apartments are being built in the country, with the largest number concentrated in the capital - 23,748.

By the end of the year, more than 20,000 apartments will be built in Bishkek, Osh, Manas, Tokmok, Kara-Balta, Karakol, Cholpon-Ata, Balykchy, Naryn, Talas, and Batken, as well as in Kochkor (Naryn region) and in the districts of Kara-Suu and Uzgen (Osh region). Since the start of the state program, 14,945 families have received housing.
