44.2 Tons of Potatoes from Russia Not Allowed into Kyrgyzstan
Violations of phytosanitary norms identified in the cargo
44.2 tons of potatoes arriving from Russia were not allowed into the territory of Kyrgyzstan, reported the Department of Chemicalization, Plant Protection, and Quarantine of the Republic.
According to the information, on January 7, 2026, an inspection of the batch of potatoes was conducted at the consolidated post located near the "Ak-Tilek" border crossing with Kazakhstan. During the control, violations of quarantine and phytosanitary requirements were identified.
In accordance with paragraph 3.7 of the "Regulations on the procedure for carrying out quarantine phytosanitary control (supervision) on the customs territory of the Eurasian Economic Union," as well as due to the lack of a phytosanitary certificate, the cargo was sent back to the country of origin.
