Potatoes Imported from Russia Returned Due to Phytosanitary Violations
Near the border crossing "Ak-Tilek" on the Kyrgyz-Kazakh section of the border, employees of the "Combined Post" discovered violations of phytosanitary norms during the import of 44.2 tons of potatoes from Russia. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of Kyrgyzstan.
Violations were recorded during the phytosanitary control conducted by the Department of Chemicalization, Plant Protection, and Quarantine, which is subordinate to the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of the country.
According to paragraph 3.7 of the Regulation on the Procedure for Quarantine Phytosanitary Control, approved by the Decision of the Customs Union Commission dated June 18, 2010, No. 318, the cargo was returned to the sender due to the absence of a phytosanitary certificate for this batch of quarantine products, which poses a high phytosanitary risk.
