A special warning about impending severe frosts, snowfalls, wet snow, and strong storms has been issued for most regions of Mongolia. Snowfall is expected in the western and central aimags on February 20, followed by precipitation covering the central, Gobi, and eastern regions on February 21, and snow will be observed in the eastern aimags on February 22.
According to the weather forecast for February 19, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, cloudy weather is expected in the northwestern part of the country, with variable clouds possible in some areas. Snow may fall in the Mongol-Altai and Khuvsgul mountain regions. The wind will blow from the southwest at a speed of 4-9 meters per second, and in the Altai mountain region and the Arts-Bogd gorge, its speed will increase to 15-17 meters per second.
As for the temperature, in the area of Lake Uvs and in the valley of the Tes River, it will range from -16 to -21°C. In the upper reaches of the Zavkhan and Zag-Baidrag rivers, as well as in the valleys of the Ider and Yeruu rivers, the temperature will be -7 to -12°C. In the mountainous areas of Khangai and Khuvsgul, as well as in the valley of the Yeruu River, temperatures are expected to be -3 to -8°C. In the basin of the Great Lakes, the foothills of the Khangai range, and the southern part of the Gobi, temperatures will vary from +8 to +13°C. In the Gobi-Altai range, the northern part of the Gobi, and on slopes with little snow, temperatures will be +3 to +8°C, while in other areas, they will fluctuate from +2 to -3°C.
In Ulaanbaatar, cloudy weather is also forecasted; however, no precipitation is expected. The southwest wind will blow at a speed of 3-8 meters per second, and the air temperature will range from 0 to +2°C.
