The Department of Meteorological and Environmental Analysis presents the weather forecast for February 2026.
In the western regions, temperatures are expected to be at the level of long-term averages throughout February; however, in Bayan-Ölgii, Uvs, Khovd, Zavkhan, and the western part of Govi-Altai, precipitation will be below average norms, while in the other aimags, precipitation will correspond to normal indicators.

At the beginning of February, temperatures in most regions are expected to be 1–3 °C above average values.
However, at the beginning and middle of the second ten-day period, as well as at the beginning of the third ten-day period, temperatures may drop by 1–5 °C compared to average indicators. Warming is predicted in the middle and end of the third ten-day period, while at other times, temperatures will be at the level of long-term averages.
Light snowfalls are possible at the beginning of the first ten-day period, and precipitation is also expected in the second and at the beginning of the third ten-day period. In the middle of the third ten-day period, snowfalls, strong winds, and blizzards may occur in most regions.
In the Central aimags, the average air temperature in February will be below long-term averages in Bulgan, Selenge, Töv, eastern Khövsgöl, Arkhangai, and northeastern Övörkhangai. In other areas, temperatures will correspond to average indicators. Precipitation levels are also expected to be above long-term averages in most aimags of Khövsgöl, Bulgan, Selenge, Töv, and northeastern Arkhangai, while in other areas, they will remain at normal levels.

The graph presented in Figure 8 shows fluctuations in temperature and precipitation levels. At the beginning of the month, despite an increase in daytime temperatures, it is expected that by the end of the first ten days and during the second half of the second decade, temperatures will be 1–5 °C below average values. However, warming is forecasted in the middle and at the end of the third decade, while the rest of the time, temperatures will correspond to long-term averages.
Heavy precipitation in the form of snow and wind is expected at the end of the first ten days, as well as at the beginning and middle of the second and third ten-day periods.

In the eastern aimags, the average air temperature in February is expected to be below the long-term average, while precipitation levels will be close to average indicators in the southern part of Sukhbaatar and above average in other areas. The dynamics of temperature and precipitation are presented in Figure 9. At the beginning of the month, daytime temperatures will be above average; however, by the end of the first ten days, at the beginning and middle of the second decade, as well as at the beginning of the third ten-day period, temperatures are predicted to be 1–5 °C below long-term averages.
Temperatures in the middle and last days of the third ten-day period are likely to rise, while at other times of the year, they will correspond to long-term averages. Snowfalls and strong winds are expected at the end of the first ten-day period, in the middle and at the end of the second ten-day period, as well as in the middle of the third ten-day period.
In the Gobi, the average temperature in many aimags, including Dundgovi, the northern part of Dornogovi, and Govisumber, is likely to be below long-term averages, while in other areas, temperatures will remain at average levels. Precipitation levels in Govisumber are expected to be above average, while in other areas, they will be at normal values.
At the beginning of the month, temperatures in most areas will be 1–4 °C above long-term averages.
However, at the beginning and middle of the second ten-day period, as well as at the beginning of the third ten-day period, temperatures may be 1–3 °C below long-term levels; however, in the middle of the second ten-day period, as well as in the middle and at the end of the third ten-day period, temperatures above long-term averages are expected, while at other times, temperatures will remain at average levels.
