Iran has closed its airspace and put its air defense forces on high alert

The Iranian leadership has officially announced the closure of its airspace to civilian air carriers. The exception is international flights, which can only be carried out with special permission, as reported by the "Russian Service of the BBC".

In addition, Iran has put its Aerospace Forces and Air Defense on heightened alert.

Against the backdrop of possible military actions by the U.S. against Iran, related to the brutal repression of anti-government protests, the Pentagon has begun to withdraw some of its troops from the Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar.

According to CBS sources, this step is a preventive measure.

Al Udeid is one of the key American military bases in the Middle East, where about 10,000 military personnel and civilian workers are permanently stationed.

The Iranian authorities have warned of the possibility of retaliatory strikes against American bases in the event of aggression from the U.S.

According to the BBC, there is also a reduction of the British military contingent from the same airbase.

Additionally, the United Kingdom has temporarily closed its embassy in Tehran, which will now operate remotely.

This week, U.S. President Donald Trump stated that Washington would take "very tough measures" against Iran if the country's authorities carry out executions of protesters.

On Wednesday, he noted that, according to data from his administration, "killings in Iran have stopped, and executions are not planned." In response to a journalist's question about where he got this information, Trump said it came from "very important sources on the other side," expressing hope for its accuracy.

Trump also added that military actions are not ruled out for now, and they will depend on the development of the situation.

On January 14, two European officials told Reuters that the use of military force against Iran could occur soon, possibly within 24 hours.

An Israeli representative also informed Reuters that Trump seems to have made a decision on military actions against Iran, though the details and timing of this intervention remain unclear.

In response to the threats, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated on Wednesday on Fox News that Donald Trump was mistaken when he ordered the bombing of Iran last year: "Know that if you try to repeat the same failed experience, the result will be similar."
