Considering the complex epizootic situation in some regions of Russia, the Veterinary Control and Supervision Committee of the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan has gradually introduced temporary restrictions on the import and transit of live animals, livestock products, and feed that have not undergone thermal treatment, with the aim of ensuring epizootic welfare in the country.
At the border with Russia, veterinary control posts are operating in enhanced mode, where all cargo is subjected to strict control, and any violations detected result in the goods being returned to the sender.
Since the beginning of 2026, quarantine has been imposed in five districts of the Novosibirsk region due to rabies and pasteurellosis. According to Andrey Shindelov, the Minister of Agriculture of the region, the latest cases were recorded in early March, and after sanitary measures, no new outbreaks have been observed. It is known that farmers are losing livestock, which is confiscated and destroyed.
Earlier, the chief specialist of the Department for the Control of Anti-Epizootic Measures of the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Food Processing Industry of Kyrgyzstan, Dairkul Satkynov, stated that the epizootic situation in the republic remains stable. At the same time, Deputy Kubanychbek Samakov of the Jogorku Kenesh raised the issue of the critical situation regarding the spread of foot-and-mouth disease in the Naryn and At-Bashinsky districts.
