Satkynov noted that the veterinary service regularly conducts training courses for specialists in various regions of the country. The main focus of the classes is on zoonotic infections that can be transmitted from animals to humans, such as anthrax, brucellosis, rabies, and echinococcosis.
Additionally, veterinarians are trained to identify diseases that have not been previously registered in Kyrgyzstan. In particular, this concerns nodular dermatitis, which, according to the specialist, has come from Kazakhstan.
“This disease manifests during the hot summer period and is transmitted through insect bites. Therefore, training veterinarians on such issues is our priority,” added Satkynov.
He also emphasized the importance of livestock owners promptly consulting veterinary specialists at the first signs of illness in animals.
According to established rules, owners are required to inform local veterinarians of any suspicions of disease. Without the specialist's consent, it is prohibited to kill or sell sick animals.
After a consultation, the veterinarian conducts an examination, makes a diagnosis, and prescribes treatment. If the disease poses no threat, the animal may be returned to the herd after recovery.
However, in the case of dangerous infectious diseases being identified, such as anthrax, forced slaughter is carried out, and the carcass is destroyed by burning. Tissue samples are sent to the laboratory for further investigation.
“The time frame for receiving laboratory test results varies from one to ten days. If the owner decides to act independently, they bear full responsibility for the consequences,” the specialist emphasized.
