The designer-layout artist received special permission
Ernist Zheentaev, convicted in a case related to calls for mass riots, received special permission from President Sadyr Japarov to temporarily leave the detention center. This decision was made so that he could attend the funeral of his mother, who passed away on February 26, as reported by his relatives.
The funeral rites are scheduled for tomorrow in the village of Temir, located in the Issyk-Kul region. Relatives and friends have expressed their condolences to the Zheentaev family.
It should be noted that the designer worked in several media outlets. He was detained in November 2025 for publications on social media. The Pervomaisky District Court of Bishkek sentenced him to 6 years in prison under part 3 of article 278 and part 1 of article 332 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. Zheentaev's defense plans to appeal this sentence.
