In the village of Kara-Talaa, located in the Ton district of the Issyk-Kul region, a culling of jackals was conducted.

Local residents report that the increase in the number of jackals in their area has posed a serious threat to children and domestic animals. In response to citizens' appeals, the authorities organized measures to eliminate the predators.
According to the current legislation of Kyrgyzstan, hunters can expect monetary rewards for the culling of wild predators. For one wolf, the reward is 6,000 soms, for a wolf pup — 1,500 soms, and for a jackal — 2,000 soms.

Hunters receive an amount of 4,800 soms for a wolf, 1,600 soms for a jackal, and 1,200 soms for a wolf pup, after taxes and contributions to the Social Fund are deducted.
