In Suzak, local hunters shot half of the wolf pack in one day
During the operation, they managed to eliminate the leaders of the pack.
Kubanychbek Almamotov, who organized the hunt, reported that he received information from hunters in the village of Kara-Köl about the location where the wolves were spending the night. He followed the hunting trail and soon came across the pack, after which he immediately notified other hunters.
“Around noon, I noticed the wolves moving in a group. There is a hunter named Shamsi in the village of Karingen. I informed our group. The hunters prepared the horses, and more than ten people actively participated in the hunt. We caught the leaders and several large wolves. However, due to the wooded area, we were unable to catch the entire pack at once. From the tracks in the snow, we found footprints of eleven wolves, although I only saw eight. These predators are not so easy to deal with,” he shared.
The group of hunters led by K. Almamotov is actively engaged in hunting wolves and jackals in the Suzak district. Last year, they eliminated 130 jackals. At the request of local residents, who complain about attacks by predators on small livestock, the hunters continue this work.
According to the government decree of Kyrgyzstan, monetary rewards are provided for the hunting of predatory animals: 6,000 soms for one wolf, 1,500 soms for a wolf pup, and 2,000 soms for a jackal.
After providing all the necessary documents, hunters can receive a reward of 4,800 soms for a wolf, 1,600 soms for a jackal, and 1,200 soms for a wolf pup, minus social contributions and income tax.
