In the Jalal-Abad Region, 82 wolves and over 1000 jackals were shot.

In the Jalal-Abad region, hunting teams and representatives of limited liability hunting societies have carried out the culling of 82 wolves and 1051 jackals.

According to Sherikbay Shaimkulov, head of the department of specially protected natural areas of the regional office of the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision, special commissions were formed at the beginning of the year to implement the government decree of February 26, 2016, No. 89, and a procedure for their operation was established.

To effectively regulate the population of wild predators such as wolves and jackals, the management began accepting applications from hunting teams consisting of local hunters. As a result, 122 teams that had all the necessary documents and paid for permits were issued the corresponding permits.

Work has been conducted with hunters to explain safety rules during hunting, and attention has been drawn to the necessity of strict compliance with legislation.

Game management officers and rangers have taken necessary measures within their service plans to reduce the population of wolves and jackals.

In 2025, the commissions operating in the Toktogul, Chatkal, Nooken, and Bazar-Korgon districts, as well as in the cities of Kara-Kul and Kök-Jangak, registered 22 wolves and 938 jackals. All documents and media materials were sent to the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision for the payment of rewards to hunters.

Additionally, the hunting societies "Okhota-Keydzhy," "On-Acha," "Zhoon-Terek," "Beke-Chal," and "Altyn-Zhayyk" have planned to cull 97 wolves and 205 jackals for 2025. To date, they have already harvested 60 wolves and 113 jackals, totaling 82 wolves and 1051 jackals, noted Shaimkulov.

Currently, hunters receive a reward of 6,000 soms for each wolf and 2,000 soms for each jackal.

It is worth noting that in 2021, the ministry considered increasing the rewards to 10,000 soms for a wolf and 5,000 soms for a jackal, but at the moment, the amounts of payments remain unchanged.
