Today, February 17, Bektur Zulpiyev, representing the president and the cabinet of ministers, nominated Shabdanbekov at a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, where deputies voted for his appointment without discussion.
ResumeJumgalbek Shabdanbekov was born in 1970 in the village of Chayek, located in the Naryn region. In 1991, he graduated from the Faculty of Economics of the Kyrgyz National University named after Jusup Balasagyn and began his career in the tax service in the Talas region, where he worked as an inspector and senior inspector.
Since 1994, Shabdanbekov has been working in national security agencies, holding various key positions, including in the Anti-Terrorism Center, the Anti-Corruption Service, and the State Guard Service.
Since October 2020, he has held the position of head of the 9th service of the GKNB and was the deputy chairman of the committee.
On February 10, he was appointed acting chairman of the state committee by the president.
