Jumgalbek Shabdanbekov is currently 55 years old; he was born on September 22, 1970, in the Naryn region. His career in national security began as an operational officer. According to veterans, he has specialized education in the field of intelligence. There is also information about his higher education in economics, which he obtained from the economic faculty of KGNU.
In 2005, he transferred to the 9th service, which then functioned as the State Guard Service. In this position, he headed the information and analytical work department, responsible for collecting and analyzing operational information aimed at preventing terrorist and extremist threats to senior officials and state facilities.
Since October 2020, Shabdanbekov has served as the deputy chairman of the GKNB, while also leading the 9th service, which is responsible for the protection of the president, the speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh, the chairpersons of the Supreme and Constitutional Courts, as well as former presidents and strategically important state facilities.
After 2021, he actively accompanied the president on all foreign trips.
In 2022, he was awarded the rank of major general.
