The Ministry of Emergency Situations warns of avalanche danger on the mountain roads of Kyrgyzstan

According to information from Kyrgyzhydromet under the Ministry of Emergency Situations, from February 7 to 9, there is a high probability of avalanches in the mountainous areas of the country and on certain sections of roads.
The agency reports that due to the snowfall that has occurred and is expected, there is a risk of snow avalanches, as well as the formation of snow drifts, ice patches, and black ice. Dangerous conditions may be observed in mountainous regions, as well as on the following sections of highways: Bishkek – Osh (121–138 km, Too-Ashuu Pass; 198–255 km, Ala-Bel Pass and Chychkan Gorge), Ala-Buka – Kanysh-Kiya (65–110 km), Krasnaya Gorka – Ak-Tash (0–3 km), Myrza-Ake – Kara-Kulja – Alaykuu (65–101 km), Karakol – Enilchek (45–90 km, Chon-Ashuu Pass).

The Ministry of Emergency Situations strongly recommends that drivers be especially cautious when passing through avalanche-prone areas and maintain a distance of at least 500 meters between vehicles.
