Storm Warning: Snow Avalanches and Icy Conditions Expected in Mountain Areas and on Roads

From January 19 to 21, worsening weather conditions are expected in Kyrgyzstan. Due to significant precipitation and increased winds, avalanches, ice, and snow drifts are forecasted in both mountainous areas and on the following sections of roads:

- Bishkek—Osh (121-138 km, Töö-Ashuu Pass);

- 198-255 km (Ala-Bel Pass, Chychkan Gorge);

- Ala-Buka—Kanysh-Kyya (68-74 km);

- 86-101 km (Chapchyma Pass);

- Krasnaya Gorka—Ak-Tash (0-3 km);

- Myrza-Ake—Kara-Kulja—Alaikuu (65-110 km);

- Karakol—Engilchek (45-90 km, Chon-Ashuu Pass);

- Balikchy—Kazaraman—Jalal-Abad (326-349 km, Kok-Art Pass).

When traveling through avalanche-prone areas, drivers are advised to maintain a strict distance of 500 meters between vehicles.
