On A. Navoi Street in Osh, the process of demolishing a four-story building owned by a former vice-mayor has begun. According to Zhyldyzbek Bolotbekov, head of the press service of the city mayor's office, the demolition is being carried out by the building's owners, as it is located in the protective zone of the Ak-Buura River.

Earlier, on January 27, 2026, the mayor of Osh, Jenishbek Toktorbaev, ordered the demolition of the facility, which was built without permission in an area considered a water protection zone. This decision was made after the mayor, along with representatives of the relevant services, inspected the building located on Tileke Baatyr Street and owned by the auditor of the Accounts Chamber, Alimzhan Baigazakov.

This facility was erected on the site of an old bus station, and despite warnings about the necessity of its demolition, the owners did not comply with the authorities' requirements.
At the mayor's request, it is also planned to demolish neighboring buildings, including bus station No. 1, which is currently not in use.
It should be noted that a similar decision was previously made to demolish the "Kristall" hotel building located nearby.

Turmush reported that on December 15, 2025, the demolition of the "Kristall" hotel was 90% complete.
At present, the main part of the building has been destroyed, and work is ongoing to clear the construction debris. As of today, the walls and roof of the hotel have been almost completely dismantled, and heavy machinery is being used on the site to remove the debris.

According to the legislation, the protective zones of water bodies range from 6 to 50 meters on both sides. For rivers such as Ak-Buura, this zone is 50 meters.
