The Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kyrgyzstan has announced that in 2026, the first day of Ramadan (Orozo ayi) will begin on February 19.
This decision was made at the meeting of the fatwa council of muftis from countries that are part of the Organization of Turkic States, which took place in Samarkand, Uzbekistan.
According to information from the Spiritual Administration, on the evening of February 18, the first tarawih prayer will be held in all mosques across the country, which traditionally precedes the start of the holy month.
The muftiate urges believers to prepare in advance for fasting and to observe the established religious prescriptions.
